Perfection Part 2

With so many great restaurants opening, trending and DEMANDING NYC's attention, it's pretty rare that we have a chance to head back to a place for seconds (that sounds snottier than it was supposed to).  There are exceptions like my current favorite, Rubirosa - but those are special places, often living in the sweet spot of geographical convenience and uber deliciousness.  Buvette isn't exactly close to either one of us... but it is close to perfect. 2 trips, 2 of the most special nights we've had as a couple.
I Love Buvette

Our first trip, we knew something extra ordinary was brewing when Jonathan Waxman was sitting at the bar, causally sipping some wine - allowing the rest of the crowd to bask in his culinary godliness. That pretty much set the tone for the rest of a meal that was accented by fabulous wine, unabashed over-ordering and the best waitress one could hope for.

Part deux started where our the first concluded.  We arrived at the wonderfully cozy spot on Grove street (why does it feel like these places can only exist in the west village) and patiently waited the half hour to be seated. Our host sat us down in a romantic little nook and we were pleasantly greeted by the same waitress from our first Buvette experience (she even remembered us)!  Everything worked together so harmoniously - the waitress (we crush on her), wine (a nice little Bordeaux), food and ambiance all played wonderfully off of each other. Hearts were in the air fo' sho'.

Focusing on the food for a second...it's French, delicious  and really reasonable.  We ordered the Salsify (braised in red wine) w/ Roquefort Cheese, Lentils w/ Black Kale, Mussels, Egg's with White Truffle and a Chicken Liver Pate (it's in a jar and it's amazing) - most of these guys were served tartine style.  5 dishes and a bottle of wine for a hundo...that's pretty great.

This place = romantical.  There's a reason the website is ilovebuvette.com - they know you'll adore it.
